>>If intelligence and education where what it took we could give a test. Aside from intelligence and education not being consistent predictors of good leadership, we seem to settle for the appearance of intelligence and attendance at a good school as proxy for the real things.<<

When I was young I developed a formula for wisdom:

I multiplied three variables: general intellectual ability, education and sanity from .01 to 1.

E.g. If someone is a 1 in intelligence and a 1 in education, but a .01 in sanity their score comes out .01.

As I have grown old, I realize blind spots should be a forth category and that is just a matter of the human condition.

When I see people getting upset about government or a zillion other things I remind them it is the human condition i.e. we are all a bunch of schmuck's in the end and we all suffer from huge blind spots.

There is no great group of humans out there. Just we average people doing the best we can.
