Not long ago I went to Ebay to looked up prices on a certain type of watch. A few minutes later I returned to Yahoo! and was stunned to see adds there for the very same watch I was checking on on Ebay.

No thank you. I don't want anyone following me around the Web to see where I bank, where I trade stocks (and how often), how often I send e-greetings and to whom, and whether or not I share e-mails with Charlie Manson or Marilyn Mason.

Suppose your employer had access to what books you ordered from Amazon.com, or checked out from your local library. Now suppose he didn't approve of what your were reading, and found some way to let you go. Would you still approve of this kind of snooping?

If you fear big business, and/or if you fear big government, you should also fear how much they know about you. Yeah, it seems harmless enough now, but it's still early days in this kind of Big Brotherism.

You must be young - I'm 65. I find that young people today don't have the concerns about privacy that us older folks do, though they should.
