Paul, actually I totally agree with you which is why while I'm pretty confident of making money Monday, my concern is the aftermath. I agree that there are alot of people who have difficulty distinguishing between the announcement and the revenue and earning streams that follow (provided the deal holds together) quite a ways down the road. You misunderstand me if you think I believe the PowerPC is on the verge of toppling Intel. While IBMs name has been connected with this event on Monday, so has Intel. IMHO part of what we'll see is Microsoft licensing Rhapsody for the future OS as well as Apple announcing a porting of Rhapsody to Merced and Alpha. (By the way, Rhapsody for Intel developers release is being issued next week.) How IBM fits in, I haven't been able to figure but they keep getting mentioned and the 1 Ghz PC has me worried. I think I agree with you that Rhapsody/Window 2000s future depends on Apple not getting limited to the PowerPC platform. That everyone could be involved seems so remotely fanciful that it makes my fanciful prediction seem down to earth, although there have been attempts at placing Microsoft, Intel, Apple, IBM, Compaq, Sun, Oracle and Lucent all on the stage. That would be quite a sight.
