There are plenty of lefty rich guys. Most of us on this thread don't trade options.

There's only two people that have tried to justify not reporting - you and bentway.

-------------------------------------------------------
"Because there are paper and electronic records. Account statements showing the transactions. Both individual and brokerage account records can be demanded."

You know this????

Yes, because brokerages keep records. What would make you think otherwise?
------------------------------------------------------

If so why are those transactions reported to IRS or are they.....you don't know but you're faking it...

I've already said I can't speak from experience there. But it doesn't matter, they're still taxable and only an idiot would think they could get away with not reporting income.
-----------------------------------------------------

Audit my ass.....what percentage of returns are audited each year?

Again, I don't know but audits do happen and people with high incomes are more likely to be audited. Big companies are audited every year as a matter of course. I would assume high net worth and high net income folks are audited more frequently than salary earners.
-----------------------------------------------------

So why do all of us have to fill out a 1040 but the big guys don't have to report their trades..??

The big guys do have to report their trades on their 1040's. Again, you're just making up a claim that "the big boys" evade loads of taxes ... probably to rationalize your own smaller tiem cheating.
----------------------------------------------------

"I don't know what criteria the IRS uses. But audits take place and if someone is simply not reporting income, it only takes one audit to send them to prison."

You sound like such a simpleton.....

If you don't think thats true, you're a simpleton.
