I2, this happened the last gulf crisis. The explanation may be, that the european currencies (countries) are not affected at all by some dictator bashing in Iraq. The consequences for US are not foreseeable. So the money flows to Europe (DM, SFR).

I personally doubt, if there are consequences at all.
