Rasmussen consistently rates the Republican candidate higher than anyone else when a comparison can be made.

I'm beginning to notice the same practice: quote poll averages with and without Rasmussen. Which I gather is an indication of just how much credibility they've lost.

Chris Bowers has started doing that in his estimations of senate wins and losses.

If we ever did get an honest Conservative Party in the US running alongside the Republicans, this is what many races would look like:

Colorado Governor - Maes vs. Hickenlooper vs. Tancredo PPP (D) Hickenlooper 48, Maes 23, Tancredo 22

Hickenlooper +25

Running on their own, pure winger candidates will not command majorities in anything but the reddest states (probably with small populations).

I'm not sure there are hardly any large, populous counties in the US nowadays with a reliable Republican majority.

One thing I'm skeptical of is having Barbara Boxer in the toss-up category. I know the polls aren't great for her right now, but I'd be very surprised if she loses to Fiorina. Things that surprise me do happen, however, so who knows?

Are polls still land line only, or do some include cell phones? 2 of my kids are cell only, the third has a land line cuz she lives in a cell dead zone, but didn't have one at all while at Cal. There are a lot of people their ages like that.
