He can be both, because he's magically evil. If you can wrap your head around that, you'll understand the more delusional elements of the right wing. My husband and I always used to chuckle about the ethnic studies classes in this regard. You can't be both a discriminated minority AND have been a huge participant in the great historic events that occurred while you where stomped on. I've always thought the left was a little disconnected on this one. It's true that there have been accomplishments by disenfranchised and powerless minorities, and history is certainly affected by their servitude or persecution, but the majority of historical decisions are not taken by the persecuted and powerless. Which is not to say the margins of history do not have fascinating stories to tell us, but they are still the margins, and before you study the margins, you must read the whole page.
