No, you are the liar. The best Slate could come up with was:

"Our critics are saying our economy is on its knees," Reagan said on the '82 campaign trail. "Well, you know something, if the economy is back on its knees, that's quite an improvement because two years ago it was flat on its back."

That's not bashing Carter in the way Obama has bashed GWB. There was no mention by name, which is highly offensive and un-presidential.

But it is fine. It is a huge mistake Obama is making, because most Americans are highly offended at Obama's behavior. At the same time, Bush's post-presidential behavior has been exemplary. He has done what presidents should do, which is to keep their mouths shut after leaving office. Obama will not do the same, and Clinton hasn't. GWB and his dad both have. Highly professional behavior when compared with scumbag Democrats.
