Hi: Even though I sold out my position "got cold feet" I wanted to post this web site you all might find interesting. Since I don't know how to import the http's, I'll type it below:

semi.harris.com

This will take you to Harris Semiconductor home page with a lot of fingerprint information. My husband was at Harris yesterday and tried it out in the lab. He said it was really impressive.

Thanks for the information Steve... but I have a question... could this company be buying their scanners from NRID and including them in their whole software setup for these virtual kiosks?? Just a thought.. but I do like the extra exposure biometrics is receiving... Good luck everyone.

Steve,
Thanks for sharing. You're right about the importance of the spreading of this technology. I still believe that the real money will not be in the kiosks and teller machineds, but in the back offices of the banks and financial units.
Thanks again
Sheldon

steve,

Thanks for the link. Wonder why NRI isn't putting a news anouncement on this.

A new Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU) Service Center is now open at the
Purdue West Shopping Plaza in West Lafayette. The PEFCU Service Center features TARA
Touch, an automated unit that allows members to open accounts, order checks, receive account
information and statements, and perform nearly any other transactions available at other PEFCU
Service Centers. PEFCU employees will be on-site to assist members during business hours, while
the TARA Touch unit will be available during and after business hours.

Finger imaging technology secures all member transactions by verifying the identity of PEFCU
members using the computer-based systems at the unmanned branch. PEFCU?s TARA Touch units
are believed to be the first operational implementations of finger imaging for positive identification in
the United States financial services industry.

"NRI is pleased to work with a financial services leader and technology innovator such as Purdue
Employees Federal Credit Union in their implementation of finger imaging technology for improved
customer service," said Colleen Madigan, director of financial services marketing for The National
Registry Inc. "Our NRIdentity biometric personal identification technology will enhance membership
service and increase security for individuals requesting access to their account information in an
unattended environment."

NRIdentitiy finger imaging verifies the identity of members accessing their personal accounts. As
members access their accounts and conduct transactions, they will place their index finger on an
optical scanner and NRIdentity software will confirm or deny their access to the system based on
previous enrollment of their finger image into the credit union membership account database.
Members can register their finger image at PEFCU's Northwestern Ave. and Union St. Service
Centers.
