Another way to look at TJ's statements - TJ is a Chinese political and cultural patriot, both by birth and by free choice. The recent development China, especially the past 15-20 years, after a very long period of difficulty(1) is like the Boston Red Sox wining the world series over the New York Yankees. It is cause for great joy in Boston. Sorry about the US centric sport analogy. (Chelsea beating Manchester United as an equivalent ?) (1) long period of difficulty = being invaded by Japan, threatened by Russia, fed British Food, etc. So I am inclined to let TJ have a certain amount of slack. Also, sometimes we take certain people to task over what their fellow citizens have done - El Mat gets the blame for all of Brazil, TJ for China, Elroy for Chevron and commercial real estate, etc.
