Watched "Up the Yangtze" last night,very enlightening... Great insight into mind set of the Chinese Classes as in "Haves and Have Nots" and reveals the vast Disparity of the Classes.... Bottom line is the peoples, the masses, possess a certain respect, loyalty, honor, of the great Chinese cultural history and are Passive to that Idea regardless of their hardship's. I think China is an Enigma and a wonderment in the same breath... I think Hong Kong, like Shanghai or Beijing has nothing to do with China per se.... An ongoing Enigma Chas

Life remains Tribal, your discussions to Hawkmoon continue to prove the point... You state many good points specifically re China... Hawkmoon does also although more generally oriented (no pun)... I think being Tribal is a good thing especially if one is in a strong, forward thinking, aggressive Tribe, China Tribe is that. USA Tribe under new leadership has run amok and seemingly lost their way....even the USA Military Intelligentsia is showing signs of indecision and weakness...witness WikiLeaks and handling of that matter..... Chinese Tribe does not Fugaround with probable and/or problematic scenarios... TJ is one of China's Elite living in one of China Tribes satellite Provincial sites.... Hawkmoon is one of USA Tribes commoners connected to ParaMilitary functions.... Chas. is a traveller, looking out the window, face and hands pressed to glass in wonderment, so much to see, so much to learn, so little time..... Chas. is impressed with all the Tribal Wisdom of this site...
