When using MS-Output, you can get an error message if Metastock has a lock open on the directory you are trying to get QP to output to. If a chart WAS open, then closed in MSWIN, sometimes the lock is not closed - if I've been using the explorer, this seems to happen. Best way is to exit from MSWIN, and then run MS-Output.

If MSWIN was terminated abnormally, temporary files (including lockfile) can be left behind. When you open a chart in MSWIN, there are 4 files created in the directory, all with basename ~msfl. The extentions are: .IDX, .LCK, .SEC, .USR. You can go back into MSWIN, open a chart in the directory (click OK when the warning dialog box comes up), then exit. Or you can just delete the 4 files.

Good luck.
Paul

Error Code -373 Means that the directory does not exit.
Or You have a typo in the path, for win95 users, you may have too many characters in the path name. Use only eight characters.
To remove this error: Open the Quotes plus MetaStock Output utility, choose Define Automatically Updated MetaStock Directories. Highlight the line giving you the error, choose drop. Then done. Choose Add to re-enter the path if you are changing the number of characters.
