We will never know the truth of that story. I doubt it because I don't believe Obama would be stupid enough to tell anyone such a thing. Here's what I believe. I believe that Obama stopped just shy of actually saying that he himself was a Muslim, but went on so effusively about his Muslim father, background, family and sympathies that Aboul Gheit heard Obama say that he was a Muslim in all but open declaration. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more, know what I mean? After all, in that part of the world, the sons of Muslim fathers who are named "Hussein" are ALWAYS Muslim themselves. No exceptions. One more factor -- the conversation may have passed through a translator, who might have pushed Obama's declaration over a limit he was trying to shy up to but not cross.

Agree, one can doubt the story-----however, imho, I think he is stupid enough to say what it is claimed he said. The interview in which he mentioned "my Muslim faith" was a moment of truth that he retracked with the help of the interviewer. jmho mj
