What do you think about all this chat about ASND being acquired? Is it ripe?

James:
I'm even an Eagles fan in Western PA, but I hoped they get wiped
out on Monday night, because they won't give Hoying a try. What
about Hoying?

what type of growth rate would you expect for asnd to deserve these multiples? expectations are 30+% this year.

James,
Dataquest is giving est. of approx 35-40% growth for the networking sector in 98'( if i'm off correct me my notes are at work). Internet infrastructure is now 11% of that pie, they feel that it could grow to 15% in 98'. A growing slice of a growing pie looks like a good place to be. Their will only be 3 major players in RAS, COMS, CSCO and ASND. As it stands Ascend holds the big club in Remote access, port density. Port density gives them the room in the margins to defend it's franchise and prosper. Now that the problems with the TNT have been worked out( except the signaling problem for the PTT's) They can start bashing everyone over the head with it. Once Cisco finds their place at the table and everyone accepts that they are going to be there then this story starts to gel. You can push the reset button and look ahead.

james, what was it that you "know" about asnd's growth rate? ;-)

just teasing as investing is a crazy game that causes a lot of schizophrenia. i've been there, done that, too. ;-)

hey, they earnings concerns are real in technology, not mythical.

good luck...
