I am unsure of your argument or point. The math of trade equation at the time says Britain had nothing of merit to sell to china that would have plugged the then obvious trade deficit. It was then expedient to push drugs, per British cultural imperative. Why argue with math?

These days, Colombia, Mexico, afghanistan cannot balance trade deficit given same lack of merit, and so they push drugs to america.

The difference between the the British and the current day drug lords, in British case, it was state sanctioned and supported terrorism.

The difference in math of trade, per lack of merit imperative, is zero.

You do understand math, yes?
