Defending Fox News. I hate Fox News, but they are getting a raw deal on the NewsCorp donation of a million dollars to The Republican Governors Association. Many say that this is the smoking gun that proves that "fair and balanced" is really "farts and ballast." Not true.

Newscorp gave the donation to elect more Republican governors, not FoxNews, itself. Newscorp is much more than FoxNews. For one thing, the Fox Network is a non conservative entertainment group that airs such crap as "American Idol" and "Glee." Sean Hannity is not Homer Simpson. Sean is not nearly as bright as Homer and Homer is somewhat less cartoonish. Harper-Collins Publishing is not Fox News and Harpers actually publishes some worthwhile books.

So, Fox News is still a bunch of biased right wing nut jobs who pimp for Teabaggers, but this donation does not prove it. Listening to any of the crap they say proves it, as does the number of FoxNews employees who will be running for the GOP Presidential nomination, but the donation does not.
