Didn't the last time the Fed started buying the long end prove to be the low point for yields? That's the way I remember it. I can't remember the dates, or I'd go check. Exactly what you'd expect. Fed says it's going to buy a ton of junk, so Wall Street front runs them - bids it all up first, then hands it over to the ever-willing Uncle Ben.

Never done it before, but maybe I'll have to try a little TBT...
