We share some ideas. To the extent I agree with his ideas, I'll defend the ideas. To the extent he says something wacky, that's him being wacky, or at least odd, not an issue involving libertarianism. I'm more in to the actual ideas, than I am in to "tribal" connections based on the ideas, having to defend someone who shares some of your ideas because he is "your guy", or attack the opponent of the ideas, even when he recognizes some of your points or otherwise makes sense because he's "on the other team".
