With WDC out of TFI, are all of APMs customers now exclusively using MR heads? If APM can't sell TFI then they will be forced, obviously, to change all their lines to MR. We know that they have the technology but the change over is going to cost the company considerably short term. One thing they have going for them is the currency exchange rate in SE Asia.

Some guidance from Chrisman would help but I don't think WDC would announce their change over with the belief that APM, one of their major suppliers, could not handle it.

I am more worried about Fujitsu dumping their drives on the market. A price war now is just what we don't need. I have had some personal experience with their drives in the past and frankly they were complete crap. Maybe they have gotten better but if not I hope the PC makers don't stuff their sub $1K boxes with Fujitsu and foist them off on an unsuspecting public.

>>Prudent Speculator thinks the entire DD sector is a screaming buy right now.<<

Which isue are you referring to, if I may ask. I have a lot of faith in FRank, but he has been pushing APM and DDs for quite some time. Are you sure he still sees it the same way?

Dennis.
