I read the NOAA/NASA, etc., article the other day that claimed the first 7 months of the year are an all time record high [since records were kept in 1880].

When I looked at their global chart I knew it was BS. They showed my region of the country as at least 5° above average for the year to date. Considering the well below temps we had throughout the winter & several stretches of record & near record lows in the spring & summer, I find it impossible to believe that the above average temps we've had not only made up for the below normal temps, but made this area one of the main contributors to a global record high.

Granted we had a hot spell in the spring. Most of July & the first 2 weeks of August were hot, but we didn't set any record highs that I'm aware of. And this year hasn't been any warmer than any other spring or summer I've experienced here. In fact, I think we had several years in the 90's that were warmer overall.
