I should have mentioned it was at The Eagleton Courthouse, Judge Autrey's Court, 10 North.

Mike,

Amazing! I thought you needed more than just the numbers on the check. Did they have fake checks made up, like that guy Carl Hanratty depicted in 'Catch Me If You Can? These guys don't sound run-of-the-mill.

They probably won't issue travel tickets until the last minute when they are sure the guy isn't going to cop a plea. So if you don't hear anything tomorrow it probably means he's made a deal, or that they don't need you for a conviction.

Just found this interesting page about the presiding judge:

enlightenedsentencing.org

Sounds like the perp might get two years of hard yoga with this judge. <G>

I'm amazed you got anyone to prosecute.

Mike,

Well, I was just trying to save you the potential embarrassment of having a crowd of the Ask Michael Burke followers in SI show up and get the impression that this was some live in-person version of the same. I can just imagine no sooner than one of the lawyers stating that he has no further questions of you that someone stands up from the galley, comes forward and starts grilling you on something like what's the best way to short treasuries. <G>
