Did I misread the article? I thought they said an 8" wafer
manufacturing facility. I took that to mean they were going
to produce silicon. AM I wrong??

Never mind,
Just re-read the article, it infers an 8" manufacturing fab
for chips. It means that 8" will be viable for 4-5 years or
more and still be profitable, with specialty chips.
