I had mostly forgotten that entire conversation, and it's interesting and helpful (to me) that you remembered.

Rambi's death did make me think about Edwarda, and Neocon, as how could it not?

In so many ways. Including the recent confrontation with X, which caused me to keep humming to myself, under my breath, "let X equal X", the title of a Lauri Anderson piece I've always liked.

X will always be X, CB/Ilaine will always be CB/Ilaine, and it's not about us, but we cannot help but make it about us in our own minds, because that's what we do.

I never met them (Edwarda, Neocon, Rambi) in real life, but I did send Rambi Christmas cards, every year, to "Rambi", at her address, and she always sent me a PM very amused. She liked me well enough to friend me on Facebook.

Most people, but not all, think I am (mostly) harmless. ;^)

As for the death of Edwarda -- Rambi was mistaken about what was going on behind the scenes. Her family could not afford to fly to her bedside, that was paid for by Edwarda's friends on SI. Her medical history, such as it was, was obtained by Edwarda's friends on SI, and provided to her health care providers, but was not enough to save her life. And after her death, some legal assistance was provided to her family by her friends on SI, not me, he knows who he is.

We are real human beings, some of whom, but not all, use aliases to communicate on this forum, and as real human beings, we assist each other, or do not, according to our preference. The use of this medium fosters, but does not guaranty, anonymity.

I have always taken the position that we own our words, which is why I have decided not to be anonymous for several years. But to each his/her own.
