I have the same problem. I have not been able to figure out how to fix it. I have an ATI Radeon HD 3650 video card running W7 pro on an HP 'puter.

I was poking around in control panel (or device manager) and apparently Windows 7 has a way to entirely deactivate or exclude unknown devices. Maybe it was in one of the troubleshooters that are buried here and there. Anyway, for anybody interested in this sort of thing... I did use this... unknown device identifier software download download.cnet.com And it identified this as being [UNKNOWN DEVICE] Chip: Intel 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset Family HECI Controller Detail PnpID VEN_8086&DEV_3B64&SUBSYS_04381028&REV_06 Which isn't much more than I knew before, but at least it is pretty certain to do with Intel AMT en.wikipedia.org Anyway, there were no drivers installed (I had probably uninstalled them when I uninstalled the Intel AMT program. I went ahead and confirmed that Windows more completely exclude or bypass it. No ill effects that I can see so far. Finally, it has been 60 hours since my last video device crash and I'm feeling more confident that it did have something to do with screwed up sleep settings and/or Intel AMT. It is possible that buying a PC from the Dell outlet got me a machine that was intended for an office setting where Intel AMT could be very useful. But I think I've done the right thing for me in getting rid of it. Time will tell.
