On TV yesterday, I think it was Thad Allen who said that BP is going to go and try to work on failed BOP first before doing the "bottom kill". Is it wise for them to work on the failed BOP now that the "top kil" is a success. Again, I am not aware of all the intricacies. All I can surmise is that they are doing so to have the BOP serve as a tertiary backup system. I am presuming the the relief well has a functional BOP to take care of the situation of the relief well blowing up.
