It doesn't make a whole lot of difference what it is called at this point. The question that will be answered is whether or not this event helps to close the fear and anger issues or will it exacerbate the cycle of fear and anger.

The facts are in:

The Sufi promoters and organizers are the furthest thing from radical terrorists or sympathisers.

Radicals can still claim a victory over GZ, a second time, and most likely will but reasonable people can say, 'look we've moved on', we've realized the word 'Muslim' does not have to connote fear and loathing it can also mean 'American neighbors' who are not awful people, and who can exist in any region of society, including this one... and you radicals have no claim in this event. Personally I think radicals would be more likely to bomb this site than endorse it, they hate Sufis. Some people don't want that neighborly acceptence; some of them are Muslim and some are not. Those that don't want it, get off on provoking one another on a stage for everyone else.

"Secondly, American history is one of religious tolerance, not persecution."

False: American history is filled with examples of the worst kind of religious intolerance including torture, oppression, and genocidal brutality ... usually followed by societal regret and systematic changes in law and social mores, with each generation seeming intent on reproving that cycle in one forum or another.

If it's not a mosque, the Imam will be on the hook for millions more in RE taxes.
Maybe that's another reason he's calling it a mosque?

Secondly, American history is one of religious tolerance, not persecution.

you libs cut down that cross after the USSC said it was ok.

You libs won't let crosses be on the highway where cops have been killed. But I bet you would be all for Cresents on the Highway if they were muslim cops
