THC...I am aware that TEL is big (but I know little about them) and I have heard that they have done well in the oxide etch business...beating out AMAT and LRCX in several places....what other areas does TEL compete in successfully other than oxide etch??

you r absolutely right sometimes we are very blinkered on this thread. TEL is a market share competitor to amat. Also kumar's point about the europeans leading 300m is well stated... the reason is that they are taking the lead is that they are currently building a number of greenfield fabs that don't have 200mm depreciation attached to them.
