Precisely, Oracle has dropped about 6,000,000,000 in market cap over the last month or so and they are hardly worried about what the acquisition of Borland at 500,000 would do to their stock price; they are more concerned about what they would do with that technology and how quickly they could grow earnings selling Borland under the wing of a rock-solid company. Poof, magic: no more "will Borland still be around" talk and suddenly one of the major barriers to sales and growth is removed.
