Sure we are "in trouble", we are in a harsh recession and we have too much government spending, deficit spending, and debt, and also too much private debt, particularly too much debt from people who will have problems paying it back, or even can't or won't pay it back.

I'm not a profit of doom, by any means, but that doesn't mean I think things are great right now.
