Here's where I have a problem with your position. You equate those who do not want god being said as in the pledge of allegiance with the extreme left or left and I don't think that is necessarily true. It seems to me the only lawsuit I recall on the issue was an individual and the ACLU was involved. However the ACLU represents anyone such as when they represented the Nazi group that wanted to march in Skokie Illinois. From my perspective the ACLU tries to maintain a bright line on issues of separation of church and state, and issues of free speech which is a good thing. I may not agree with the position they take but I do think it is for the good overall.
BTW- I also do not have an issue with nativity scenes as long as other religions are allowed the same right to display something.
