Dodge and Cox is shorting Treasury Futures: news.morningstar.com They are careful to say they are hedging and not betting outright. However, I have never heard of any professional manager who shorted anything he thought was about to sprint to new highs.

You and Ron Paul are still missing the point even though Paul is clearly correct about private property.

The "left" has created the environment of hyper sensitivity that exists in this country.

You have to be consistent.

Either people can believe and say whatever they want without all sorts of career and economic repercussions because of the sensitivities of others or we all have to try to be more sensitive to the feelings of others and adjust our own behavior.

It's not a matter of legality. Obviously they should be free to build the mosque there.

However, if huge numbers of people are hypersensitive to having a Mosque there because they "correctly" associate Mulsim extremism with 9/11 and know that on many occasions mosques in the US (even close by in NJ and elsewhere), Europe and elsewhere have been noted to be centers for that kind of extremism abroad, so be it. If they know that the tradition of Mulsim conquerors is to build a Mosque on the conquered land so be it.

That doesn't mean that this mosque will be a center for extremism or that's the reason they chose this location.

However, a reasonable Muslim (or any other reasonable person) would understand the sensitivities and have no problem moving the Mosque a few blocks away because there is NO DOWNSIDE to that. They could simply try to educate the locals about what goes on there.

If there was huge downside, it would be different and it would be worth a fight.

If however the goal is to antagonize, then they are making it perfectly clear that there is no place for a mosque in that location and those that are fighting it should not stop the fight.
