Piper Jaffray Predicts Semiconductor Super Cycle With Internet TV, Manufacturing Plant Underinvestment, And Infrastructure Driving Growth......

"To summarize, there is a combination of underspending in infrastructure, telecom, corporate IT, data centers, an emerging [3rd world] middle class, and rich people in the developed economies are still spending money. This is coupled with a decade of underinvestment in semiconductor manufacturing capacity. While there is a lot of angst regarding the overall economy, things in the chip business haven't been this good since 1993."

MRVL was the only stock in the SOXM and Group that finished in positive territory today. This of course was due to the nice upgrade story by the Motley Fool today - a nice 1 day bounce while every other stock went down. The jump today was on top of the jump from last weeks good earnings report.

I think MRVL is a good stock, and may do very well as the future unfolds, however, as of this past May the stock is down about 16 percent as of last Friday even with the 11 percent jump last week from the earnings report and upgrade(s).

Many other good stocks are in the same "boat" as MRVL.
