The train solution provides full ability to talk using mobile phone on the entire route (although reduced speed in the Great Belt tunnel under the ocean), full ability to work online with your laptop, free coffee, free newspapers, food. Neither the plane solution or the car solution can make you spend time like that. As you can see, it is simply stupid to go by car if you're serious about business.

Depends on where you are. If you're talking about, for example, Dallas to Houston, that could make a viable US train route for business travelers. But Dallas to Midland/Odessa or Albuquerque? I doubt it. This country is just too vast to support this kind of business travel.

I hope one day we'll have more rail. People don't understand how much a trillion dollars is -- but for what Obama wasted on the so-called "stimulus" package we could have had a first-class rail system. I doubt we'll have another chance like that.
