Actually, the funds don't come from the State Government. The Permanent Fund checks are derived from oil leases and royalties from oil companies.

If Miller wins the primary, we could see a concerted effort from national Democrats to flip Alaska into the blue column during the general. Miller's positions are kind of "out there", like wanting to phase out Social Security and Medicare.
