Crossy,

I am a big fun of quantumonline.com and have been donating to them regularly.

Many of the preferreds I own have either passed their initial call date or become callable due to the regulatory change in Tier 1 capital, so I am not looking to holding out for more than par. However, I would be happy with a call or even an-above PAR tender.

I am also content right now to clip coupons from preferreds and exchange-traded bonds in my IRA accounts. The capital appreciation has been gravy.

2008 taught me that always being heavily weighted in value-oriented microcaps stock is not a great idea. Having accumulated some decent wealth it hurt to see it disappear so quickly, as it did in 2008. This is despite the fact that my microcap strategy has worked well over time, and I eventually recouped all my losses. It was a terrible feeling losing several years of a salary over the span of a few months.

Best,
MC
