Its completely true that if the stimulus failed to crate jobs the CBO report wouldn't have picked up that fact. They aren't actually measuring jobs, or even trying to estimate them from data about jobs, or about the economy broadly. They are taking a formula that says "if the government spends money this way, it has a multiplier of X, this way and its a multiplier of Y (with all the multipliers above 1, basically 1.25 to 1.75). In other words the formula assumes positive results. They are not in any way researching actual jobs, they are just applying a formula.

As Brian Riedl said in my earlier link

"The problem here is obvious. Once CBO decided to assume that every dollar of government spending increased GDP by the multipliers above, its conclusion that the stimulus saved jobs was pre-ordained. The economy could have lost 10 million jobs and the model still would have said that without the stimulus it would have lost 11.5 million jobs.

The debate over the efficacy of Keynesian stimulus is essentially a debate over the correct multipliers. Some believe the multipliers are high, others believe they are as low as zero (or even negative). Testing the stimulus requires testing the multipliers. Yet by simply assuming large multipliers, CBO effectively pre-ordained its conclusion that the stimulus worked, regardless of what actually happened in the economy."

These drug cartels are sub human. Very worrisome.

Marines find 72 bodies in northern Mexico

Mexican marines found the dumped bodies of 72 people at a rural location in northern Mexico following a shootout with suspected drug cartel gunmen that left one marine and three suspects dead, the Navy reported late Tuesday.

The cadavers of 58 men and 14 women were found at a spot near the Gulf coast south of the border city of Matamoros. It appears to be the largest drug—cartel body dumping ground found in Mexico since President Felipe Calderon launched an offensive against drug trafficking in late 2006.
