You are talking crazy talk! (Like someone who knows nothing of statistics, or else like someone trying to mislead....) A point or two month-to-month in the polls is NOTHING! Normal background clutter and sampling error drift.... LOOK AT THE OVERALL TREND LINES. Overlay them for easy reference. Re: "current favorability ratings (low 40s, most recently 41%) are noticeably lower than Reagan's" 'Noticable', sure. 'Statistically significant'? No way in Hell. (Right at the margin or poll error, and month-to-month either Reagan or Obama can show higher. The daily means nothing. :-) Re: "Yes Reagan's ratings went down to 42% later" At the END of his SECOND YEAR. (I.E., just a few months from NOW. LOL!) Re: "before climbing up to high levels" No problem! We can compare his third year in office with Obama's third year WHEN IT HAPPENS!
