GF determines the schedule and as they don't really have that many customers, then there are few competing priorities as well as being contractually obligated. However, if they can't get the process to work or the chip to bin, then AMD will be fundamentally a different company. Fusion in Llano and Ontario, if they can compete on price/performance against Intel, could make AMD a niche contender in the laptop/netbook low end desktop space. It could even be interesting in clusters if OpenCL takes off. However, there are too many maybes, making me believe AMD will no longer interesting to me as a technologist or as an investor. A lot is riding on Bulldozer (obviously). I give it a year. If bulldozer is still a failure by then, AMD will have to change massively. For those who doubted the ATI acquisition, that part might be the only thing left relatively intact. The shame is that Bulldozer went from a dominating architecture to one that still looks promising, but is no longer the game changer it could have been if released last year.
