The person who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi in 1948 belonged to a extremist party which is still in existence today. They are vehemently anti-Muslim and they refer to Europe as Eurobia. And if you go through their rants today, they sound no different than those made by the folks mentioned in your post.

“Gingrich is too smart to be that stupid,”

I don't think that's true. People get stupid when they hate something a lot. It's obvious to anyone who isn't addled that 1. the hijackers were a small group 2. they were non-state terrorists (thus unlike any state perpetrating crimes- like the Japanese, or the Germans, or the US 3. they did not represent all Muslims or even a majority of Muslims and 4. they certainly did not represent American Muslims.

It is unfortunate that people are blinded by hatred of Muslims. Considering the crazy folk in this country think Muslims are blinded by hatred of Christians, it's more than ironic that they'd want to do the same thing. And I guess they don't realize that "kill them all" or "bomb them back in to the stone age" language, is just like the language of the worst extremists of the middle East. And as far as I know no Muslim country has invaded the US, yet the Us has invaded Muslim countries several times. I'm not sure how that gets a pass- oh yeah- they "deserve" it.

What can you do when your own country contains such barbarians? That doesn't make me like the barbarians who happen to be Muslim (a minority of Muslims, thank goodness)- I dislike both the barbarian Muslims, and the barbarian Christians who seem to want to ape them. How I wish the world was full of non-virulent peaceful agnostics, or B'hais- or just non-extreme folks of any stripe. I'm really sick to death of cretins on a mission from God- no matter which God they claim to be tuning in with their tinfoil antenna. If there was a God you'd hope he'd smite them all- but their probably isn't, which is why such fools of all religions run around doing so much harm and causing so much misery, and sewing so much hate.

>>The outcry implies that Islam alone was responsible for the 9/11 attacks,” writes Ron Paul, Republican member of Congress from Texas.

He says it’s all part of a long and well-orchestrated campaign by those “who demand continual war in the Middle East and Central Asia” and who “never miss a chance to use hatred toward Muslims to rally support for the ill-conceived preventative wars.”<<

Once in a while Ron Paul surprises me by saying something cogent and accurate like the above.
