The Parent Model By DAVID BROOKS Not bad. As usual with Brooks more thoughtful work, it's placed at such a level of generality, one wants to shout out this or that mistake, over generalization, etc. But the frame is what is important and the frame is a bit vulnerable--the goodness of consensus versus conflictual economic policies, the goodness of the present government in Britain (interesting!) as opposed to its predecessor. Frankly, Brooks is as partisan as everyone else in the op ed business. Just tries to find another planet (almost literally) to play out his preferences.
