A lot of our mines were resurrected from previous properties that were drilled just so far and were not immediately continued on. Kerr Addison, Hemlo. Hemlo was a 300,000 tons drill off by Teck Corp. that ran .35 ounces per ton. Nothing wrong with it. Two companies had owned it. Kerr Addison went through, I believe four reorganizations and two wcompanies and 8 years before it was "found". Loads of mines are reopened to produce again. There are 15,000 gold occurences in Beardmore-Geraldton alone. I had 25 occurrences on one property I had, another guy had 70 on his. 5 of the major projects that Beardmore underwent from 1980 on were on previously mined or drilled off properties. The Sand River, the Magnet, the Empire, The Dik-Dik and the Brookbank. All were major modern projects. All had seen multiple exploration phases before and all had been mined. All were drilled again and tonnage added. All were abandoned. And you know what? They will all be drilled again. The Magnet and the Brookbank ARE being drilled again. The Magnet has underground operations on it for the 3rd time since the war and this time it might make it. As far as Newmont goes they pulled out of Canada and abandoned all their properties so who knows? Determination, Intent, Integrity and competence. Add gold price, market, investor interest and stir. Its a complex formula. If you have the recipe let me know. I have done it for a number of years on all sides of this fence and I thought your cake had a little too much icing and yeast to go in the oven. Just an opinion. I am prosaic. Straight Betty Crocker. Nothin fancy. One layer and in the oven. Put the icing on later. We have been eating it for years up here. A staple in fact. We're what you call home grown professionals. We even bake in your backyard. Just traipse along the Carlin trend and check out who own the various Bakeries in Arizona, Nevada and California. I will bet the majority have an origin that starts with a C and I don't mean Czechoslovakia. Amongst that upstart crew there is a majority opinion to be checked out that claims of vast sources of Pt pastries in certain host cupcakes are possibly dubious. Perhaps you had best check out the ingredients. Just bein' friendly. After all we stuck our neck out for some friends of yours in foreign lands before, perhaps we are actually being altruistic or neighbourly. --------------------------------------------------------------------
