Xy,
Well, all I can say is that I went to Costco today and they had a big stack of Presario 2200's (180 MhzGX) on the end cap. First time for Costco. With a monitor they were $979. This was likely a close out deal as Best Buy is out of 2200's and the 200mhz model is due NOW. 200Mhz should be a magic number for the GX...then 23. Compaq has moved to the 4505 (PentiumMMX-166) for their $999 price point. Acer has a K6-200 for $999 and IBM has an Aptiva K6-166 for $999. The last two are new. CTX is well established at under $999 and since they make monitors they can offer good deals on combos.
Packard Bell? Well they should be the next casualty.
