"They need to start a program that moves to low cost retail."

Snipped this out of your post steve. You can not present a
compelling argument as to why this needs to be done. Please
try though, I'm interested. I'm guessing you'd love them
to go head-to-head w/ Compaq and get their a-- kicked.

steve - you still have'nt answered my questions. Why isn't
Dell moving to adopt the superior efficiencies of Compaq.
Why aren't they investing in EDI, ERP, touch screen, intranet,
extranet etc. etc? Why aren't they investing in SMT PCBA
capabilities. Why aren't they developing channel partners
and relationships so that they can move to channel BTO?
Why don't they just ditch their poorly implemented quasi-JIT
model and pay you to implement a REAL system? Why don't they
just pay for everything once a quarter so they don't have to
pay the vendors all those expensive logistical wharehousing
charges?

steve - re-read your post #20948, line 13 to be exact

"They need to start a program that moves to low cost retail."

How does someone misinterpret that?
