Why do you persist in bringing up profit per employe? It is totally meaningless! It's like you have an old vinyl record and your stylus is stuck in a scratched groove! Profit per employee is meaningful only if you are comparing two labor intensive operations utilizing the same business model. Dell has a very large telephone sales force, while Compaq uses retail channels, so Dell is more labor intensive and is expected to show less profit per employee than Compaq. Try profit per asset invested for a better metric.
