Ted, the link I provided is to an article about "dry water" and the R&D revolving around it. There are some potential uses for it, including CO2 absorption, but right now it's in the "gee whiz" state AFAIK.

Still, it reminded me of the "powdered water" joke.

It should be possible. There was a company some years ago who was going to come out with powdered alcoholic drinks, just add water. The alcohol was encapsulated in water soluble spheres. Never saw the product on the market, but if they could do that, certainly water could be done the same. Not sure why, but that is a different issue.
