Gregor!! What an astounding testimony. PRAISE GOD for great relationships, especially when one takes a vow for life and the Lord simply doesn't allow for much of a back door, let's face it. I think there is a back door implied, but I don't think it's very wise to try to use it. And how exciting that you were able to listen to God's voice when he explained the whole thing to you. Do you realize that whole scenario could have gone over another brother's head, and the lesson would have to be learned again and again? You must have a great wife, too. It sure is a two-way street. By the way, I posted a dear little excerp from Pilgrim's Progress on Rock thread in response to a question you asked Emile about sin. I have an ancient version with old lithographs, and it was sitting here and I posted Pilgrim's discussion with Hope about Hope's feeling God could and would never forgive him. I love Pilgrims Progress, and once read the whole thing rather quickly, and was astounded at the work. What amazes me about John Bunyan is by his own introduction to the work written in the 1600's (?) Well amazing!! I just went to my handy little encyclopedia and find that Bunyan was metal worker who had a very, very blue collar life of it, and says of himself that in all of England there was no man more depraved. But after 2 years in some war somewhere he listened to his wife and became a street preacher and was thrown in a dungeon for 12 years. Got out, got a church and was thrown back into the dungeon, where he began to write Pilgrims Prog. I believe dear brother John B. knew of what he spoke, which is always good to know. English dungeons, or even the best of prisons, were gruesome beyond the imagination. What an exciting place Heaven will be, huh? Can't wait.
