WLD, I suppose that depends on what you mean by "preparedness".

If you mean preparedness sufficient to completely counteract the approaching future, agreed. In coming decades the effect will be insuperable, and I've posted to that effect.

However, we can mitigate the effects. Those nations that do mitigate - prepare - will find themselves in economically stronger positions than those that don't.

Those that don't prepare will be forced into cheaper alternatives like coal, with its GHG penalty. But as you say, nobody will be spared; higher energy costs will be visited on all. Simply put, those that have planned, invested and acted for the future will come out ahead of those who didn't.

So far, we know which group we're in. We're the clowns waiting for "the market" to save us.
