Ted, the more I tour this state, the more I'm amazed at how fertile this land is. The local produce is always fresh (even more so in Northern California compared to Southern.) Many homes that I visited have fruit trees that require only token upkeep (and regular watering, of course).

If you can get a place with some land, plant a juice orange tree......actually, you may have to plant two because of cross pollination or something like that. I used to go out on a hot day in Oct. and pick a couple of oranges, sit under a tree and squeeze the juice into my mouth. It was like drinking nectar from the gods. ;-)

BTW this is the 4th day in Aug. I have had to run the space heater next to my desk. We have had only 5 days this summer when the temps got above 80º. It has been very strange.
