Hi Chino

Obama adviser warns against tax cuts for wealthy

Personally I hope they maintain the entire tax cuts through 2011.

1. General - It will not be helpful to the recovery to put them back in. The recovery is already tepid at best.

2. Personal - It will hit me hard in 2011 but not in 2012.

First of all taxes are the gov taking money from people (like you and I). I want to keep as much of the money that I earned as I can. Thus I am for low taxes.

That said there are Federal obligations I must kick in for, so I am not against taxes, just keeping them to a minimum. The way the gov has acted in the last decade has been fiscally irresponsible IMHO. I am not happy to finance unneeded wars, I am not happy to fund the ever continuing entitlements (the Bush drug perk and the O healthcare, excessive gov pensions) and I am not happy to fund an excessively large gov (at all levels). Gov almost never does anything efficiently. Always lots of waste - Not my money mentality. I am not happy to fund union bailouts.

So before I will be happy to pay more, the gov must become more fiscally responsible.

I also think that the current situation will force the reinstatement of the higher tax levels. They probably will let the top % expire and keep them in for Joe the plumber, but I hope they extend them for all at least in 2011.

I also hate the headline which promotes class warfare. Everyone is always happy to see the other guy pay more as long as it doesnt touch their pocket.

Regards

Neil
