Thanks, Mooter, for explaining the details of the early line 1 problems. I'm glad to hear you are fully invested once again - it supports my confidence to an even greater degree now that I'm close to adding my final block of shares. Thanks also to FMK and others for the informative posts.

The PC Week article places the blame for the failure on an improper charging rate - this is odd as I had assumed that the limiting circuitry was built into the battery itself, which would leave the notebook maker out of the picture. But, as Fred pointed out, there could have been a component failure in the circuit itself.
Looking on the bright side though, this shows that polymer batteries don't explode!

If this causes the VLNC price to stay in the single digits a little longer, then this was helpful news - I need it to stay down another 9 or 10 days. Meanwhile, this has been a lively sunday evening on this board! Any news on the conf. call yet, time, phone number, etc?
